“At Niteco, I Never Get Bored”

When 35 year-old Tung Thanh Nguyen decided to join his wife on her company trips to Nha Trang and Danang more than four years ago, he didn’t think it would lead to a job change. But that’s exactly what happened. Tung, whose wife worked for Episerver’s Offshore Development Centre at the time, met the man who would later become his boss on these trips. Tung explains, “When we went away with my wife’s company, I met Pelle Niklasson and I liked him instantly. I got the chance to get to know him and his vision for Niteco, which was just starting up back then. And when he was looking for a project manager, I applied and I’ve been with Niteco ever since.”

Now a program manager, heading up one of Niteco’s largest programs, Tung says the nature of his work means there’s no time for him to ever get bored. He adds, “I carry out a customer-facing role and I manage a team of technicians. It’s also my job to focus on the problems in a program, which doesn’t sound exciting but it keeps me busy.”

Despite the challenges his job presents, Tung says working for Niteco has been a positive experience for him. “There are five reasons I like working at Niteco. Firstly, Pelle is one of the people I like to work with. Secondly, we are constantly working on projects that need updating with the latest technologies and this means that there are new things to learn every day. Thirdly, I like our work environment. We work as a team here and we’re very international. Fourthly, there is a lot of training available to us – both technical skills training and English language training and lastly, there are many social clubs such as the company soccer, ping-pong and badminton teams that you can join which are fun.”
