Last week, Niteco had the opportunity to visit and support the family of Vo Hong Gam, a 6-year-old girl who is currently undergoing intensive treatment at Children’s Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City. Through the NICEF charity fund, we donated 20,000,000 VND to help her family cover urgent medical expenses, marking our first act of 2026.
As part of our regular efforts, we proactively reach out to hospitals to identify children in need of urgent support. Through this process, the Children’s Hospital connected us with Gam’s case.
Gam comes from a rural and disadvantaged area in Tay Ninh province. After a near-drowning incident, she was admitted in critical condition with severe pneumonia and sepsis, requiring mechanical ventilation and continuous intensive care. Her family, who rely on unstable daily labor income (around 200,000 VND per day), has been facing overwhelming financial pressure while staying by her side.
The 20,000,000 VND donation from NICEF has been transferred to the family, helping them settle outstanding hospital costs and easing their burden so Gam can continue receiving treatment without interruption. During our visit, we saw not only hardship but also resilience, and we were reminded once again how meaningful collective kindness can be.
Mr. Khoa, a developer from the Mimir division and NICEF’s representative in Ho Chi Minh City, shared
“When we visited, Gam had not yet fully recovered. Her family was deeply relieved because a large portion of the hospital fees were finally settled by NICEF. Her father, with a trembling voice, nearly in tears, thanked the company for the donation. That moment helped me clearly see the true value of NICEF: a community that comes together to share responsibility and support one another when it matters most.”
